Luke Boone doesn't know exactly what his uncle Rust is involved in but he wants in on it-the cars, the money, the women. And it looks like he's finally getting his wish. When Rust hands him the managerial keys to the garage, they come with a second set-one that opens up the door to tons of cash and opportunity. Though it's not exactly legal, Luke's never been one to worry about that sort of thing. Especially when it puts him behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and onto the radar of gorgeous socialite named Rain.

Clara Bertelli is at the top of her game-at only twenty-six years old, she's one of the most successful undercover officers in the Washington D.C. major crime unit, and she's just been handed a case that could catapult her career and expose one of the west coast's most notorious car theft rings. But, in order to do it, she'll need to go deep undercover as Rain Martines. Her target? The twenty-four-year old nephew of a key player who appears ready to follow in his uncle's footsteps.

As Clara drifts deeper into the luxurious lifestyle of Rain, and further into the arms of her very attractive and charming target, the lines between right and wrong start to blur, making her wonder if she'll be able to leave it all behind. Or if she'll even want to.

review

K.A Tucker is one of my favorite authors ever. Her books always just strike the right chord within me and I connect emotionally and always just love the story, the writing and the characters. And well, Becoming Rain kept that trend alive! This just proves my love for Ms. Tucker’s books even more fiercely because damn can she write a story that sucks me in, makes me love the characters, makes me swoon (Oh my God, LUKE!) and gives me all sorts of emotions. That perfect feeling of getting lost in an awesome book.

Becoming Rain is a nail biter story of Clara, (code name: Rain) an undercover agent, whose mission is to take down a huge car theft ring by luring in the notorious criminal’s (Uncle Rust) nephew, Luke Boone.

“I’ve broken one of the most basic rules of undercover work: don’t get emotionally attached to your targets.”

Luke works for his uncle Rust and is slowly getting involved with the illegal activities of the organization and the only way that Rain can let him talk is to get his attention and make him fall. As they begin to get to know each other more, Rain discovers a different side of Luke. She feels something that ignites her – something that isn’t exactly what she needs right now. But love complicates her mission.

I have always loved forbidden romance type stories but they really need to have some real depth in them. And this is exactly what I love about this book. It isn’t some predictable kind of love story but this forbidden slow dance that just leaves you breathless and your heart pounding especially at the end. All the tension and the suspense were intense and Ms. Tucker just knows how to grab your attention from the beginning and does not let you go until the very last page. She makes me feel like I am really involved in the story with the details she gives and how she takes her time in the best way possible to get you to feel it and to know the characters even more.

Now, if I’m being honest, there were a few things that weren’t perfect for me but it was one of those little details that didn’t really matter. The heart of the story, my feelings, and just my love for the characters made my brain gloss over them. I have no regrets.

Overall, Becoming Rain is a darn good novel. It had it all for me — great characters, a romance to cheer for, action, tension, intrigue, excellent writing
