As I picked up my up tenth Hoover novel I knew that I would love the story. I don’t think it’s possible to see her books on my kindle and say “not sure about this one.” So, I knew I would like Confess but I wasn’t expecting this! This concept demands attention. We all hold secrets that never see the light of day. With Confess, Colleen offers a creative release for these confessions while entertaining us the way only she can.
From the start this story grabbed me. Tight! Auburn will captivate you with her strength and determination. Owen will grab hold of your soul and you will for forever changed. Both Auburn and Owen are locked in worlds splattered with the mistakes of their past. Reminded daily that the road ahead is detoured by their sins. These characters are relatable. This storyline is flawless. Beautiful in every way possible. Confess, like any intriguing piece of art, will have you questioning what you see, think, and feel.
Whatever the platform, words, paint, or music Colleen has found ways to push her novels to the next level. Becoming more than pages, you walk away changed.

I had no expectations going into this story. I just knew that I had to read it and didn’t think twice when clicking that buy now button. I started it immediately and read into the late hours of the night. I do believe that this book is the fastest that I’ve ever finished a book. I cried, maybe a little too much for my liking. I cried in the beginning, in the middle and lots of tears at the end. I laughed my a** off. OMG, Colleen can write some of the funniest stuff.
The characters, OMG. I’m going to start with Owen. He’s just freaking awesome. I loved everything about him. The small parts where he eluded to his secret. The way he was with Auburn. He’s just perfect!
Auburn, my heart broke for her. Over and over again. I think that her struggles and the strength she showed is what made me love her the most.
Overall, this is now my favorite Colleen Hoover book. It surpassed Maybe Someday for me that sat at #1. I’m also in love with the paintings in the book. I’m so glad she’s offering the prints for sale on her website. Loved this book so much!
I hate Colleen Hoover! There goes my biggest confession!
I hate how much I love her and her books, and I hate how much I care for her characters. There’s just so much to me that makes her stand out from everyone else and Confess definitely sealed that deal for me. It’s so vibrant. It’s so alive! There is something so hypnotizing about her writing and you will want to just rush right to pick it up!
It’s hard to talk too objectively about this book because I feel it too much. From page one, I knew this is going to be unlike anything I’ve ever read. The way Ms. Hoover wrote the scenes make me get a lump in my throat just thinking about it. There are just these little touches and small moments that Colleen just gets right. So right that it hurts. It’s a perfect storm of a great plot, dynamic & flawed characters whose pulses I could practically feel as I held the pages.
The way this story was told is also sooo effective. You can feel the authenticity in the characters’ voices. Their passion, their grief, their sadness, their triumphs, their losses and their defining moments felt like they were mine as well. We carry the burden of their secrets and biggest hurts. And as the story progresses, we find out things and key pieces that could help their relationship work. I was a flood of tears at certain points because the way certain things come together are just devastatingly heartbreaking or overwhelmingly beautiful. From the moment Auburn and Owen meet and as they both get deeper and deeper into each other’s worlds, I am so mesmerized and enchanted by them. It was everything and more. The intensity of their friendship. The complications. The aftermaths. It is just so perfectly explored!
I know I’m not going to be able to adequately describe this book or the experience I had while reading it, but one thing is for sure, this book is EPICALLY BEAUTIFUL. I love everything about it and I highly recommend it. It broke my heart a million times, emotionally captivated me and was ultimately so uplifting. I love these characters. I love their stories. I love this book. I want you to meet them.
