If we didn’t know darkness, we couldn’t fully appreciate the light.

Garth Black’s more familiar with this concept than most people are. He hadn’t just lived in the dark for the majority of his life—he thrived in it. With a mom who’d bailed on him and a dad whose understanding of coddling started and ended with a bottle of whiskey, Garth had never been expected to rise to any sort of occasion other than following down the same dead-end paths.

That changed when he fell in love with Josie Gibson. After years of pulling each other closer before shoving the other way, they finally stopped shoving. Josie’s love is like nothing Garth’s ever experienced. He holds it close. He holds it sacred. He would do anything to preserve it and keep it from pollution, even if that means removing himself from the picture.

Garth might have been allowed a temporary furlough to bask in the light, but that pass has been revoked, and he’s been swallowed again by the dark. Will he revert to his old ways of hurting those he cares for most? Will he go back to the same destructive patterns . . . or will it be worse this time?

We can’t know light without first knowing dark . . . and Garth Black’s about to get acquainted with the dark in a whole new way.

review

“Love wasn’t simple. It didn’t come naturally or instinctively or easily. It had to be earned and fought for and could drive a person to insanity just as quickly as it could drive them to greatness…”

It’s worth the wait! Losers Weepers just solidifies, in my mind, why Nicole Williams is one of the best. I’ve read all of her books and I just really think she knows how to write a damn good story that always leaves an impression and always makes me feel something, and Losers Weepers is certainly no exception!

I have always loved Garth and Josie’s chemistry. They were both two incredible fleshed out characters and from their very first interactions there was just this energy that I loved. It’s fun, playful and explosive. But their young, hot love is once again tested when a tragic incident happened.

How could one moment, one flash in time, be responsible for changing my whole existence?

Will their love fail this time?

Ms. Williams’ writing is just divine. She has created a very strong and impressive heroine (Josie) that you can’t help but to feel for her at how she has to take care of Garth, of their relationship, of their current situation. Watching the love Joze has for Garth and realizing that could not be enough to save him really hurt me. But she never gives up even if sometimes she almost feels so helpless because she knows he’s getting worse – you can just feel the burden but also the unconditional love and concern she has for Garth.

“I wanted to be with you before, I want to be with you now, and I’ll want to be with you forever because I love you.”

I love books that not only focus on the romantic relationship of the characters but also their friendship. Another thing to love about this book…we get to hear from Rowen and Jesse. I must admit that after finishing this book, I had this insatiable need to read about their next story.

The way Nicole Williams delivers this story is just signature Nicole and it hits all the right notes. It is powerful, wonderful and all around a stunningly written novel.

If you are a lover of realistic fiction that has just incredible depth, get Losers Weepers on your list!

About Nicole Williams

I’m the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the CRASH series (HarperTeen, S&S UK), LOST & FOUND series, UP IN FLAMES (S&S UK), The EDEN TRILOGY, and a handful of others. I write stories about everyday kinds of people who find themselves in extraordinary kinds of situations. I tell love stories with happy endings because I believe in making the world a better place, and that’s one tiny way I can make it so. I’m one of those people who still believe in true love and soul mates, and would rather keep my head in the clouds any day over having my feet firmly on the ground.
