Four years ago, my dreams were shattered in an instant.

I tried to pick up the pieces and glue them back together the best I knew how, but something was always missing.

A father for my two girls.

But then, Brody Murphy landed on my doorstep, literally. He was a carefree, playful hockey player who barged into my life and messed with my head. He left me more confused than I had ever been.

What if the one thing I thought I needed was the only thing holding me back?

“If you never give up on love, it will never give up on you.”

Sometimes life has other plans. Sometimes life just happens. Sometimes, life hands you exactly what you need when you least expect it. It’s that single unexpected moment of serendipity that lands you dead smack in the middle of the storm of all storms, precisely where you were meant to be. Sometimes, your destiny literally walks through your front door.

Kacie Jensen is a young single mother raising five-year old twins. Her life hadn’t exactly panned out the way she’d planned. Her journey was no longer just about her, she had a new purpose. Making the best of her circumstances she is determined to build a future for her and her girls. She was a mother and her existence revolved around them. Her happiness no longer a factor in the equation.

Brody Murphy is a man in the prime of his life. A life that dreams are made of. He is single, good-looking, successful, and at the peak of his career. He had it all. He hadn’t really ever been into the relationship scene, and wasn’t looking for one now. He had everything a man could possibly ever need, not realizing the one thing missing, was the one thing he really wanted.

“Twenty-four hours ago, I didn’t know this girl existed. Now I wanted to know every single detail about her, all the way down to her shoe size.”

The relationship that develops between Kacie and Brody is nothing short of a roller coaster. Kacie isn’t quick to trust love, and rightly so, she has been hurt deeply multiple times. They come from two separate worlds. His, one of celebrity-like status, hers one of disney princesses. Add some distance to that mix and you have a complicated relationship. Kacie has issues and Brody is fully aware. They take two steps forward and leap ten steps back. Brody refuses to give up, realizing that she is broken. He wants to be the one who helps her scars heal. Together they find what’s missing, together they find each other.

“The best damn distraction I’ve ever had in my life you and the twinkies.” He scooted over to my bed and cupped either side of my face with his warm hands. “Before you guys, I didn’t know life outside of the ring existed. You’ve made me realize I want more, I want everything, and I want it with you.”
In her debut book, Author Beth Ehemann introduces an amazing story of life, love, and family. In the first installment of the Cranberry Inn series she takes us on a journey. Yes, that’s right a journey, not just words on a page, she actually transports you to that Inn. There, we are privy to watch an amazing love story unfold. Mrs. Ehemann has done an phenomenal job acquainting us with a passionate, beautifully written romance. She presents a myriad of characters that are not only relatable but multi-layered as well. She does a flawless job peeling those layers back, allowing us to become completely vested as the characters unfold and develop. Every page finding you more attached than the one before. Not only did the story flow seamlessly, but the setting and dialogue were superlative.

Beth Ehemann SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! Brody Murphy is sheer perfection. Somehow you had a direct connection to my brain. If I could build my own man, it would so totally be him!!! Brody is the perfect combination of hot momma’s boy, sex-on-a-stick athlete, caring compassionate gentleman, and just pure male. He’s honest and straightforward, he loves deeply and passionately, and loves the twinkies as his own. I. Just. Can’t. Take. It. I just can’t.

Look no further ladies, Brody will leave you weak in the knees.

With Christmas right around the corner, all I can say is that I started my Christmas list today and it went something like this…

Dear Santa,

I’ve been a really good girl this year, and all I want for Christmas is a Brody Murphy of my very own. I promise to feed and take care of him. I even promise to love him and keep him warm (in my bed!).
If you could make that happen, that would be great.
Smitten with Brody XoXo

I can NOT wait for Room for More due out early 2014 (Ugh, hurry up already!!)

P.S. Oh, and in case you missed it, this is a MUST read!! I give it five out of five stars.

Rain can destroy life without a second thought. Rain is also capable of creation. Rain clears away old thoughts, feelings, and allows for growth.

“Look in my eyes. Yes, you can. You said you trusted me, now come on. Jump in puddles with me.”

If you do not know the name Beth Ehemann I suggest that you pull up a chair and get comfy because Beth Ehemann is a name you NEED to know!

Beth’s debut novel, Room for You, is one click gold! Beth has presented the reader with a well thought out story and believable characters with realistic storylines. As the indie publishing world hits all-time highs, the flood of books has become overwhelming. With Room for You, Beth has claimed a spot at the top of indie book shelf everywhere.

Meet Kacie, single mom of twins, devoted friend, loving daughter, and… heart broken. Picking up the pieces of a failed relationship, Kacie returns home and for the past four years has put the needs of her girls, friends, and mother ahead of her own. Pulling upon her inner strength cannot erase emotional scares form her past. She craves a stable home life and a family to complete what she thinks is missing. Her life is structured with no time for fun, a perfect mold in which she fits the pieces of her life she thought she wanted. Little did Kacie know that answering the door of her mother’s Inn would change her life forever…

Enter Brody! Pure alpha male, an accomplished athlete, devoted son, an all-around good guy. Not one for relationships, Brody has been living the single life. After a trip home Brody is forces to detour down a dirt road, in the middle of a rain storm. That detour changed his life forever.

“No. you’re not.” I hopped up and gripped Kacie’s shoulders, forcing her to look at me. “I’m done with that, Kacie, all of it. When I stopped at your inn for the night, my life was normal – my life was hockey. Nothing important existed outside of the rink; it was all just filler. Then I met you, and now I can’t stop thinking about you. You did something to me, changed something. And now, all I want is you…just you. And the twinkies.”
Beth Ehemann’s debut novel is, in a word, perfect. I found myself with a giddy smile while reading. The twins were adorable, Brody was delectable, and Diesel was lovable but at the core, to me, this book is about second chances. Clearing away what holds you back and overcoming what you never thought possible.

“I know, but that’s the one thing about scars, Kacie, over time they fade and get smaller. It’s time for yours to disappear.”

Occasionally people get lost in their own life. Living day to day they forget that in order to care for the people they love most that they need to care for themselves first. Sometimes it takes a storm to wash away the old and bring in the new.

“Thank God for rainstorms…and puddles.”

“Life is a sum made up of small parts, Kacie. Some are good; some are bad. You and the girls are definitely one of the good. The best good there is and I’ll fight like hell to keep you here.”

Love is a feeling that is very strong, unpredictable and very complicated. It comes very sudden when at least you never expected…strong for you to be able to resist, too unpredictable for us to choose the right person and complicates the situation in so many ways…

Kacie is a single mom of twins who lives with her mom and assists her in running their family business, Cranberry Inn. She’s a doting mother, a loving daughter who barely has time for herself. After working all day and caring for the kids alone, she finds herself already exhausted — not exactly in the mood to go out and find romance…parenting duty 24/7 is her priority. But the hopes of finding love and making a life with someone “again” still bother her at times. But she knows it wasn’t that simple.

“You were so scared Kacie, just like you are about life.  I wanted you to see that sometimes, even when something terrifies you, if you just give it a chance it’s actually pretty incredible.”

There is so much more at stake this time than just one person’s heart. She has the twins to think about and everything she does and will do in the future will certainly affect them. It’s one thing to put her own heart on the line. But it becomes a much harder choice to make when there are kids involved. She can’t choose for herself… she has to make the choice for them.

But as the saying goes…Love happens in the most unexpected time and place.

Brody! Oh Brody! A professional hockey player for the Minnesota Wild. He’s dreamy, he’s sexy, and he’s delicious, sweet and very caring. His attraction to Kacie was instant the moment he laid his eyes on her. Although Kacie is fighting so fucking hard against his advances, the things Brody says and does for her and the twinkies makes it even harder for her to resist and ignore the thriving feelings he has for him.

“Room for You is amazing! A breath of fresh air!”

There couldn’t be a truer statement when it comes to these characters. I totally enjoyed reading this book. The tone, the voices of the characters, and the writing style is just astonishing! Beth Ehemann does a wonderful job exploring how one fleeting moment changes everything and how things piece back together when you’re not even sure where to begin.

rfmKacie needed every ounce of her own emotional strength to jump in the puddle and fall in love again. But Brody showed her how to let loose, to venture outside of her comfort zone and to go for what her heart truly desires and deserves.

The progression of the story was beautiful. When things began to click in Kacie’s head that she’s more than just a summer fling, I wanted to jump up and down.

I can’t express in words how much I feel for this book. Usually I pick up another book almost immediately after I’ve finished one. But it took me a few days to read another because I’m still letting things settle after finishing it.

Overall, Room For You is an incredible debut novel by Beth Ehemann. I definitely encourage you to check this one out and stop what you’re doing right this second and start reading it. I guarantee you won’t regret your decision. It’s every ounce as wonderful inside as the cover is on the outside. More than the romance, you will feel like you’ve learned a huge life lesson after reading it.

Go do the one-click and jump in the puddle!
