-Michelle Valentine, Rock the Heart

|“If you’re scared, tell me. If you need to cry and scream, then do it. And you sure as hell don’t walk away from us because you think it would be better for me. Here’s the reality, Echo: I want to be by your side. If you want to go to the mall stark naked so you can show the world your scars, then let me hold your hand. If you want to see your mom, then tell me that too. I may not always understand, but damn, baby, I’ll try.”
― Katie McGarry, Pushing the Limits
How can it be so wrong when it feels so right?
It dealt with deep issues of violence, death, mental health, peer pressure, family drama and the challenges faced by foster kids. Its was definitely a reality check for me.It was a nice combination of love, romance but also addressed some real life issues. Just the right amount of tension between the main characters and it was all good and satisfying.
I think we all have a part of Noah and Echo inside us. We often get blinded of the idea of a picture perfect life, that we tend to bust our ass, no matter what it takes to have it. But a happy life is not a perfect life! Surely there will be a lot of issues, a lot of struggles and moments of failure. Life itself is a continuous journey to know that everything happens for a reason. So what else to do than learn to go with the flow, look at the bigger picture of life and appreciate what’s working for you. Knowing life can’t be perfect, we must accept and embrace everything that comes with it…and knowing we can’t be perfect either, we have to settle to strive to being the best we could be!

― Gina L. Maxwell, Seducing Cinderella
|“When are you going to stop looking at all the reasons you shouldn’t be together and start focusing on the reasons you should be?”
― Nicole Williams, Clash
“Love isn’t only love, sweetheart. It’s hard work, and trust, and tears, with even a few glimpses of devastation. But at the end of each day, if you can still look at the person at your side and can’t imagine anyone else you’d rather have there, the pain and heartache and the ups and downs of love are worth it.”
“Love isn’t easy. Especially the really good kind. It’s difficult, and you’ll want to rip your hair out just as many days as you’ll feel the wind at your back. But it’s worth it. It’s worth fighting for. Don’t let what isn’t real blind you from what is. Life isn’t perfect, we sure as shit aren’t perfect, so why should we expect love to be?”
“If you say you’re going to trust your man, then trust your man. Don’t revoke that privilege when he needs it most.”
“I know I’m one royal screw up, and God knows there’s nothing I could ever do to deserve you,” he began, taking my hand in his after sliding the ring free from the chain.
“But I want you, Lucy Larson. Bad. I want you forever. The kind of bad I have for you isn’t the kind that goes away.” His forehead lined, his eyes washing silver. “Ease my suffering. Make me the happiest, most tortured man in the world. Marry me?”
|“You’ve got all my firsts,” he said.
All the ones that matter.”
― Nicole Williams, Crash
You can’t choose love, love chooses you!
I love Nicole Williams! Not just as an amazing author but I love how she reaches out to her readers. I remember one time sending her a private message over facebook and she would reply with the sweetest message ever! I just love her!
This is the first book I have read in Nicole’s collection and after this one, I have exclusively spent the whole week reading the rest of her books. Not to mention the book covers! Wow!!! Is that a movie poster or what? I think Nicole has developed some fetish over book covers. All of her books are such head turners when it comes to the cover. And I tell you, it does a lot to catch the reader’s attention and interest.
This is not your usual “love at first sight” story. No instant love at all.
“The thing was, if staying away from him made me unsmart, I never wanted to be smart again.”
Lucy is someone who is very outspoken and a one tough lady! She is very entertaining, funny and couldn’t care less what other people say and think of her. She has been through a lot lately and would not dare to add more complications to her life up until he met one of the most popular names in the local boys home.
“The name’s Jude Ryder, since I know you’re all but salivating like a rabid dog to know, and I don’t do girlfriends, relationships, flowers or regular phone calls. If that works for you, I think we could work out something special.”
So everything has been summed up in one line. A bad ass to many, but if you see right through him, he’s more of a delicate person who had a very tough life growing up, but who is willing to try to change his perspectives for love…for Luce!
“How does a guy like you promise someone forever at eighteen?”
“Easy,” he said, pressing a soft kiss into the corner of my mouth. “He finds a girl like you.”
Happily ever after? Not too fast, baby! A lot had happened on this book and expect a whole lot more on the next! This is one book you wouldn’t want to miss reading!
wants you to just give up and let it take control.
over and be carried along.
Life wants you to fight it.
It wants you to grab an axe and hack through the wood.
It wants you to get a sledgehammer
It wants you to grab a torch and burn through the metal
and steel until you can reach through and grab it.
Life wants you to grab all the organized, the
alphabetized, the chronological, the sequenced.
stir it up, blend it.
Life doesn’t want you to let it tell you that your little
brother should be the only thing that comes first.
Life doesn’t want you to let it tell you that your career
and your education should be the only thing
And life definitely doesn’t want me
To just let it tell me
that the girl I met,
The beautiful, strong, amazing, resilient girl
That I fell so hard for
Should only come in third.
Life is trying to tell me
That the girl I love,
The girl I fell
So hard for?
There’s room for her in first.
I’m putting her first.”
A butterflying-tastic book that you can’t help but fall in love with!
” I want there to be happily-ever-afters for the fucked-up crowd. Show me the way, Eva honey. Make me believe.”
Sylvia Day did not just tell the story, she made it come alive!
