“I will do anything to make her MINE.” —Remington Tate

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington “Remy” Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can’t live without her.
Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman’s dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, Brooke is torn away from the ringside. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.
He’s mine, and I’m his. Our love is all-consuming, powerful,
imperfect, and real…
Remy, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington “Riptide” Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can’t live without her.
Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman’s dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

“The heart is a hollow muscle, and it will beat billions of times during our lives…All I know is that I feel this love in every molecule in my body, every breath I take, all the infinity in my soul. I learned that you can’t run if you tear a ligament, but your heart can be broken into a million pieces, and you can still love with your whole being. I’ve been broken and put together again…but now I dream solely of a blue-eyed fighter who one day changed my life, when he put his lips on mine…”

Katy Evans, thank you! Thank you for gifting us with REMY! Let me tell you that there is nothing hotter then a man with tapped knuckles, a silk boxing robe, and one hell of a fight face! I mean REALLY! Alpha male to the extreme and Brooke knows that the good out weighs the bad with it comes to Remy.

“My every cell knows this is my mate and prepares me for him. Just him.”

Brooke is back on the payroll to better Remy’s mind, body, and soul. In the best shape of his life Remy is working to claim what he lost in Real. The top spot was taken from him and not for lack of power but for something more…love.

“Baby, the way you need me can only barely cover half of the way I need you.”

Scorpion is also back. Insert boos and hisses! Right! Evil in its pure form! There is no end to his wick games in and out of the ring. Remy’s secret weapon come in one size…Brooke. With her, Remy is ready for the fight of his life in more ways them one.

“Remy, take care of her! She plays a tough little cookie, but her melted chocolate center is for you, you know!”

In MINE Brooke learns that her deeply completed man is all she needs. His love for her is true and all encompassing.

“Nobody ever taught him how to love. He does it instinctively.”

Both Remy and Brooke are two halves that complete and competent each other. Love in its pure raw from, beautiful and real.

“Every second that you and I breath, you belong to me.”

MINE is a follow up that gives you what you are looking for…more! More Remy, more love, more fighting, and most importantly more music. The use of music in this series is incredible! Remy’s wingman, his iPod, creates remarkable moments that only music can produce. Book three, REMY, will be the third round KO for this unbelievable raw yet touching series. I am so looking forward to living it all over again through the eyes of the people’s champion…REMY!

BLOG TOUR: ROCK THE BEAT BY MICHELLE VALENTINE (REVIEW & EXCERPT)

Title: Rock the Beat
Author: Michelle Valentine
Hosted by: Iloveindiebooks

Twenty-year-old Holly Pearson never dreamed that while working at her father’s motocross track she’d run into the walking, talking definition of trouble in a sexy, tattooed package—Trip Douglas, the man sent to evaluate the track for a possible investment opportunity. Holly makes no attempt to hide the fact she despises Trip, but she learns to be civil toward him when he offers to help her land the man of her dreams.
Trip needs a break from the crazy rock-and-roll lifestyle he’s been living for the past few years. With his Black Falcon band mates settling down with marriage and babies, Trip peruses an investment opportunity in motocross, something he’s always been passionate about. Hiding his celebrity status, Trip infiltrates the new business posing as a dirt bike rider training for the X-Games. The only obstacle is the owner’s daughter, Holly. She’s a real ball bustin’ Ice Queen, and she’ll do whatever it takes to make the deal fall through. Trip soon discovers that winning over his new enemy is the key to gaining a partnership in Mountain Time Speed Track.
Knowing he’s the expert on getting laid, Trip ropes Holly into becoming his ally by helping her score a date with the man she’s crushing on. The problem is, the more time Trip and Holly spend together, the more they uncover the undeniable attraction between them. Soon they both realize that even the best laid plans go to hell when you find you’re falling in love with the enemy.
**Book THREE in the Black Falcon series. Can also be read as a stand-alone novel**

He steps in front of me and his eyes zero in on my chest. Both of his hands dart to my top button on my gray top and he releases it from its hole before moving on to the next one. “First of all, I was attracted to your banging body in that little black dress. It screamed, “Fuck me,” so that’s not flirting—that’s attention seeking. Believe me, I wasn’t the only one watching you shake your ass. I was just the only one brave enough to try and get with you even though you were there with another man.”
“You thought I was there with Max?” I ask even though it doesn’t surprise me. Max isn’t exactly the stereotypically homosexual male. There’s nothing feminine about him. People make the mistake that we’re an item all the time.
“Yep.”
“And you were what, going to steal me away from my date?”
Trip shrugs. “When I see something I want, I go after it. And that night I wanted you. That is until you let him drag you away from me. I figured it wasn’t worth the scene it would cause to kick his ass.”
I roll my eyes. “How do you know you wouldn’t have been the one on the receiving end of that ass-kicking? Max is a pretty strong dude.”
He gives me a pointed look. “If there’s one thing I know besides that I’m awesome in bed, is that I can fight.”
I sigh. “Okay, so you’re a badass—I get it. What’s the other reason you think you I can’t flirt?”
He smiles. “I win the flirting debate because I believe it was me who came on to you first, so you can’t take credit for that.”
My brain attempts to wade through the drunken memories of a couple nights ago. “You may have started the dance, but I believe I’m the one who turned around to take it to that next level, allowing you to kiss me. Therefore I finished it. I get total credit for flirting with you first.”
He undoes the last button on my shirt. “No. Max dragged you away, effectively cutting us both off for the night. And Thank God for that. He deserves a fucking medal for performing a good deed. Can you imagine how awkward all this would be if we’d had crazy sex that night, only to meet up the very next day? That would’ve been a nightmare.”

I flinch. “Am I really that horrible that you would’ve regretted sleeping with me?”

Trip Douglas, the famous drummer of Black Falcon decided he needs a diversion while Noel and Riff are on break to fix their personal lives. So he went to Arizona to check a possible investment in Mountain Time Speed Track not knowing he will end up meeting someone that will make his now exciting life even more exciting.
Holly is the goody goody daughter of the Race Track owner. Due to some financial difficulties and the fact that his dad can no longer support her schooling; Holly went home, stopped college and return to help his father run the racetrack.
Holly and Trip met on the wrong foot but damn if it wasn’t hot and made me pee a little! Trying to make her cheating ex-boyfriend jealous and chase after her, Holly agreed to take Trip to a theatrical sketch and act as if they are together. Everything is all about business. He gets a little; she gets a little bit more. But the unexpected side-effect of spending so much time together and not to mention with such a hot guy is that eventually… you begin to fall in love with him. Their attraction was a fast progression; Holly felt so conflicted – how could she fall in love with a boy who is the exact opposite of what she wanted; egoistical, “beautiful”, full of himself…famous.
Rock the Beat is a story about falling love. It’s about a couple, who by appearances, should not be together. Holly’s background is gritty; there’s a lot about her past that has caused her to be standoffish and distanced. Trip lives in a fast paced environment; he likes to take risks and lives life as if there’s no tomorrow.
Love is a not an easy game to play. You may win some but you may lose some in the process.
Will Holly and Trip be able to withstand the rules barring this game of love?
This series just keeps getting better and better everytime. You can feel the passion and realism of each story that Michelle Valentine has brought to the house. There was a huge, huge twist that I didn’t see coming but Michelle has handled it very well and shaped the story into something phenomenal.
I could continue listing so many highlights of Rock the Beat, but I need to allow you to experience this on your own. There were a few minor editing errors and I wish the ending could’ve been a little longer, but that didn’t stop me from raving about the book entirely. I loved falling in love with this couple and hoping against hope that against all odds, their relationship would make it.
Overall, I thought this is another stellar romance novel from Michelle. The secondary characters like Max and of course the Black Falcon members also help make this a winning story. I totally recommend this book to all the rockstar book lovers out there and couldn’t be more excited to see how Michelle would wrap up this series with Tyke’s story.

BLOG TOUR: THIEF BY TARRYN FISHER (REVIEW, BOOK TRAILER & PLAYLIST)

Title: Thief
Author: Tarryn Fisher
Hosted by: Shh Mom’s Reading

Note to Self
Love is patient; love is kind.
Love doesn’t boast or brag.
There’s no arrogance in love;
it’s never rude, crude, or indecent-it’s not self absorbed.
Love isn’t easily upset.
Love doesn’t tally wrongs.
Love trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.
Love will never become obsolete.
I’ll fight for her.
Thief
Caleb Drake never got over his first love. Not when he got married. Not when she got married. When life suddenly comes full circle Caleb must decide how how far he is willing to go to get the aloof and alluring Olivia Kaspen back. But for every action in life there is a consequence, and soon Caleb finds out that sometimes love comes at an unbearably high price.

“You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the name of love.”

Does true love really conquer all? A question that is being heavily debated in the minds of many especially those who are looking for answers to heal their pain.

Thief is the 3rd and final book in the Love me with Lies series. This is where all past secrets were revealed and family issues were dealt with.

When I started reading the story, I started having an idea on how I thought the story would conclude and by the end, it was a completely different picture. I love how Tarryn has taken on such a complex subject matter and turned it on its ear, smoothly incorporating marriage, relationship and family issues to build tension and drama.

The powerful love of Caleb and Olivia for each other has been very evident since book one. Their relationship was severely tested when the rest of the world tries to tear them apart. And Ms. Fisher has outdone herself in drawing those raw emotions. She has the remarkable ability to evoke feelings from the reader not just with words, but with descriptions as well. It felt so real! It’s such a tender, sensual component of the story that it balanced out all the other madness. I couldn’t help being emotionally involved with the couple and backed them all the way. The story has the right amount of suspense, intrigue, and unpredictability to keep me wondering particularly if the characters will finally have their happy ending.

Thief is more than just your usual contemporary romance novel. It will teach you a lot of things about love. It will make you realized that we all make mistakes, we all hurt each other at some point but the great thing about it is that you have an opportunity to fix it. People will disappoint you, they will let you down, and they may even hurt you. But, if the love is there and it is real, love can conquer whatever is put before it.

The angst, lust, love, passion, conflict between the characters plus the volatile mix of emotions just made this book a total winner for me. If you like stories with powerful villains, intense, with deep emotions, Thief is the perfect suit for you.

I am a real life villain, truly. I drink sick amounts of Starbucks. Most of the time my hair smells like coffee. I was born in South Africa, and lived there for most of my childhood. I moved to Seattle just for the rain. Rome is my favorite place in the world so far, Paris comes in at a close second. I read and write more than I sleep. When I was eleven, I wrote an entire novel about runaway orphans, using only purple ink. I am addicted to Florence and the Machine and will travel to see concerts. I love scary movies and giraffes. I spend way too much time on Facebook. Meet you there?…

ROCK STAR? RECOVERING ADDICT? MURDERER?
Yeah, they all hold true.

Sometimes, when I chase the dragon, it thunders through my head like a drum, reminding me it still beats.
It’s still there.
HOLLOW. EMPTY. WASTED.
My agent says I have one more shot. A single, solitary chance to stay in the music biz, but there is one massive problem.
HER. SYN LANDRY.

Four years ago, my dreams were shattered in an instant.

I tried to pick up the pieces and glue them back together the best I knew how, but something was always missing.

A father for my two girls.

But then, Brody Murphy landed on my doorstep, literally. He was a carefree, playful hockey player who barged into my life and messed with my head. He left me more confused than I had ever been.

What if the one thing I thought I needed was the only thing holding me back?

Growing up on the outskirts of Las Vegas as the daughter of notorious strip club owner, Stephen Knox, and a mother who abandoned her at birth, life was less than kind to a young Antoinette.
After a failed teenage suicide attempt, Toni hit the road in search of a life free of undeserved cruelty and any resemblance to her past.
Years later, Toni is lost in a dead end marriage and makes a painful confession that sends her back to the one place she always wanted to escape. But can she really right the wrongs that haunt her? Toni soon finds that the only place where things stay the same is in your mind.
When her path crosses with David Stark, childhood playmate turned one night stand, she cannot deny the spike in temperature she feels every time he’s near or the scorching dreams that flood her at night.
Digging through the years of heartache, Toni soon finds herself torn between the man she is committed to and the one who has always held her heart. As each layer unfolds before her, she discovers the root cause of her pain. Always believing the source was external, nothing could prepare her for the truth.
*This book contains sexual content and adult language. Intended for readers 17+.

“You are trashed right now, aren’t you?” David couldn’t hold back the laughter as I swayed side to side slowly.

I shook my head back and forth, then up and down. “Yesshhhh…

Erin leaned in and told David, “You better watch out, she’s talking about strippers and salvation. Next thing you know, she’s going to get a Bible out and start baptizing people at the bar.”

“Fuck you, Erin, you’re just mad because you want David to christen your head with his baby batter.”

They both looked at me in absolute shock, so I stole the opportunity to slug another shot.

“Yeah, I said it. Let me up – there’s an empty pole and a morning full of regret with my name on it.”

BLOG TOUR: CROSSING PATHS BY MELANIE STINETT

Title: Crossing Paths
Author: Melanie Stinnett

The crossing paths of friendship, family, love, and loss are often complicated.
June Deckert and Caroline Smith sparked a friendship in college that carried them through graduation. Although they are complete opposites in every way, they have spent the last four years inseparable.
That is, until now.
June finds herself falling for a man who seems unattainable. As she works side by side with him on a new media campaign, their feelings for each other come alive. But when his actions start to speak louder than words, she wonders if she’s missing something.
Meanwhile, Caroline is fighting against her feelings for a recent acquaintance, and she decides to keep her new love interest a secret from June. Overwhelmed by these new emotions, her moods change swiftly, swinging up and down like a yo-yo.
While June and Caroline try to maneuver their way through new relationships, Caroline starts lying to June to protect her from a truth that threatens to break her heart and tear them apart.
In the end, Caroline’s deceit will test their friendship, and June will have to decide if her chance at love is worth putting her heart on the line.
I have enjoyed reading and writing since I was very young. Some of my fondest memories from childhood are of spending time with my mom or grandma reading a good book. Over the years, it never crossed my mind that writing my own novel would be an attainable goal. After reading several independently published novels by Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover and others, I decided I needed to give that dream a chance. So, I began writing. My debut novel, Crossing Paths released on August 28, 2013.
When I’m not reading and writing, I enjoy spending time with my three favorite guys: my husband and my two little boys.
In addition to being an author, I work as a Speech Language Pathologist to provide therapy to adults who are dealing with speech, language, cognition or voice deficits. My day job is rewarding in many different ways and I love having the opportunity to help others in a time of need.

BLOG TOUR: IF FOREVER COMES BY A.L. JACKSON (Review and Giveaways)

Title: If Forever Comes
Author: A.L. Jackson
If Forever Comes, the final chapter in the New York Times Bestselling Regret Series (Lost to You and
Take This Regret).
Christian Davison’s life is complete. With a ring on Elizabeth’s finger and his daughter at his side, he’s ready to run headlong into their future.
Elizabeth Ayers never believed she would again find this kind of joy—the joy of a family and the wholeness found in the touch of the man she’s always loved.
Their love is intense and their passion only grows as they set out to rediscover each other.
But life is never easy.
Rocked by the unforeseen, Christian and Elizabeth will find themselves fighting for the one thing they hold most important—family.
We have been aware of how Christian and Elizabeth concluded their relationship in Take this Regret. We all fell in love with their story as they struggle to fight for it until finally they got their happy ending.
In this book we were again reminded of how special their love is. But relationships are not just loads of hearts and flowers. Christian and Elizabeth’s love for each other is tested time and again by scheming circumstances yet each time it is their boundless love that emerges victorious. However, a tragic set of events forced them to separate and their lives drift apart.
Will their boundless love still be able to bring them together again?
I am totally stunned and almost speechless.
Knees trembling, heart pounding, nerve wrecking, tears overflowing.
I saw it coming!
This ARC has been sitting in my kindle for quite some time. But I never really had the courage to grab it because I know it will wreck me into pieces. I have no words to describe how I feel about this story except… IT’S ME. THIS IS MY STORY.
It’s been a while since I’ve had this much connection with a story. I felt the same pain, the same loss and it feels like Im reliving the entire situation all over again. People may not understand Elizabeth and how she shuts herself off from the world but for someone who has gone through the same damage like me, I’d say it was pretty normal. The same lines, the same dialogues echoing through my mind, as if I’m hearing myself. I feel for her.
Like with most of her romances, A.L. Jackson is not afraid to push boundaries when it comes to plot. If Forever Comes is written in a unique way, making alternate POVs of the leads in present day and flashbacks. Ms. Jackson’s writing and pacing was a top notch and the characters are strongly developed. They speak believable dialogues that you can actually feel the confusion and the indecision through them. She always does an amazing job of making her readers feel for her characters as well as forcing them to really think about the situation and what they can learn from it.
I can’t say much about the plot without spoiling it for future readers. But, what I can say is that the intensity starts from the first chapter and does not stop until the explosive and heart-wrenching scenes in the middle up to the emotional, touching ending.
I find If Forever Comes to be a satisfying and adrenaline-pumping conclusion to an already amazing series. The journey of Elizabeth and Christian was mind-blowing and emotionally taxing, but definitely worth the reader’s time and energy.
This is a wild ride and one I thoroughly enjoyed!
If you are someone who enjoys passionate characters struggling with relationships and will pull at your heartstrings, If Forever Comes is the perfect fit to your reading needs.

Favorite Line:

“Maybe that was the problem between Christian and me. Maybe the connection that bouns us was too overwhelming, too powerful, too much. Maybe a love that flamed so bright could only burn us into the ground. Maybe it was inevitable, our ruin. Maybe we’d already been set up for destruction, because something so strong made it inherently weak.”

A.L. Jackson is the New York Times bestselling author of Take This Regret and Lost to You, as well as other contemporary romance titles, including Pulled and When We Collide.
She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.
Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.

Release date: October 1, 2013

Rock star River Wilde brought Dahlia London back from the brink of hopelessness with his unwavering love and devotion. But their entwined history is about to test the strength of that love…

Dahlia was certain she had found true love and met her ‘Once in a Lifetime’ when she reconnected with River. But Dahlia’s world comes crashing down when someone from her past resurfaces, and all of River’s carefully hidden secrets are exposed.

River wants to show Dahlia that life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass—it’s about dancing in the rain! But how many times can one broken heart be mended? Will River and Dahlia be able to face the turmoil together or will they be torn apart?
Amazon | B&N | iTunes
And now I’ve got the answers that I’ve been waiting for but there’s more to it. More secrets, more lies, more pains and more revelations.

“Nothing has changed. She belongs with me.”

He’s back. Ben came back and this just maybe the biggest mistake he’s ever made!
But Ben was letting the past rule his present. He’d lost the chance to be with the love of his life when he made that decision a long time ago, and now that he’s returned, he’s no longer willing to risk losing another chance to be with Dahl.

“You filled a void, when I wasn’t here, but you’re no substitute for the real thing.”

“ Then I’ve been your substitute for way longer than you’ve been dead.”

“She’s mine. You don’t deserve her, you never did.”

Things became rough for all them. There were doubts, betrayals. There were questions.

“I want to believe your love is only for me, That your lips are mine. That your kisses are meant for me. That your body belongs to me. But when you leave me to see him, it’s hard to know for sure.

“You left me a fucking note that you were going to see the man you spent your whole life with. The man you left me for the first tiem we met. The man whose ghost I have had to compete with every day of our lives together.”

But thank God Dahlia and River’s love for each other is so strong that instead of being destroyed, they took their pain, sorted it out together, and emerged on the other side better and stronger than either of them could ever have imagined.
But will love ever be enough to hold them together?

“Relationships are made up of so many different emotions, but the one thing that keeps a relationship strong is love. Can doubt weaken such a strong bond? Not if two people don’t let it…”

Torn is the second book in this increasingly fascinating series. It picks up exactly where the first book left off. I liked the storyline, the depth of feelings, and the heat and need Dahl and River has for each other. There were a lot of things going on in this story and I kept wondering how the author could possibly wrap up all these threads, but she did well and what a remarkable accomplishment! Although there were quite a few scenes I believe that can be omitted, Torn still packs a very hard punch, in the best possible way and delivers a scorching romance. The continuation of the overall story satisfied my need to know what happens to all the characters and the fact they get to play a fairly substantial role in this second book delighted me.
When I finished the last page, I sat in silence for a rather long time, not analyzing what I read, but simply feeling the wonderful emotions that Kim Karr has evoked through this story and I can’t wait to read more of her works.
Thanks Kim! I completely enjoyed your expert way of sorting out the series in this fantastic story.
Colorblind

Close your eyes and you can imagine what it was like. Hot, sticky, crowded. Smoke, flashing screens, and lighters flickering. Fans screaming, laughing, clapping, and crying. Bodies pushing, shoving, trying to catch a glimpse. Everyone wanting to see the stage—the lights, the equipment, the musician himself.
He was running back and forth singing, headbanging, and playing his guitar. The lyrics were jumbled. His movements out of sync. The sound of the bass thumped through the crowd so loud my body vibrated with every wrong note played. I just wanted it to end.
Nick Wilde had opened for the Counting Crows at the Hollywood Bowl. It was his second chance— and he blew it. The crowd was exhilarated at the start of his first song and he owned the stage but it didn’t last long. By the third song he was improvising, pulling notes, and forgetting words. He was lost in his own trance, soaked in alcohol, and no one could help him…not Xander, not my mother, and definitely not me. “Mr. Jones” started playing before he even finished his fourth song…and he never played onstage again.
Music was his soul. Music was in all of our souls. When we were younger he taught us everything he could…how to play, to sing, the right way to command a stage. We knew every song by every artist. We traveled to concert after concert. Music was his life and it became ours.
But he wasn’t happy just playing. He had a dream—he wanted to be famous. And somewhere along the way his dream became an obsession. I’ll give it to him, he got further than most do. By the age of nineteen he had been signed by a label and cut his first album. But after a disappointing run they released him. He spent the next fifteen years working the circuit—clubs, churches, weddings, birthday parties, as he waited for another big break. And then, just like that, he blew his golden opportunity.
Everything in our life changed after that. The drinking got worse, Grandpa came around more to check on us, and Mom went back to work. Every day left another kink in his chain as he lived in his own world. I was sixteen when his plan A became my plan B and, just like him, at a young age, I cut my first album. But unlike him I had Xander. He wasn’t going to let me fail. The band’s album had a slow start but after a year of touring, it started to gain popularity.
I remember the first time the Wilde Ones graced a real stage. We were restless. We had been sitting around for hours waiting. When we were finally up we strutted confidently across the stage like we had in rehearsal, but, really, we were nervous as hell. The lights were much brighter and the audience so much bigger than we were used to. When the guys started to play, soft, barely audible words flew out of my mouth so fast I forgot to breathe. The band was drowning me out and I knew it. Looking around, I adjusted the microphone height and took in the crowd. They were cheering me on with such enthusiasm that my voice finally soared over them. It was the same voice I’d grown up with, the one my dad had fostered. It was raw and present and soulful, and, in that moment, my music came alive. The crowd went crazy and just like that my life changed again.
Xander struck while the iron was hot. He arranged to go on tour. That was the beginning of the end for me. We started out small. Smaller venues, shitty hotels, crappy food, and a lot of drinking. We opened for band after band and the relationships I made…they kept me going, that and being up on that stage doing what I loved…it kept me going, wanting to make my dad proud…yeah, that, too.
But touring was a constant infringement on my personal space. I hated the cramped quarters, lack of privacy, constant strict schedule, never being in the same city for more than two nights, people following you everywhere, people always wanting something from you. Even the girls throwing themselves at you got old. It was the longest year of my life, but I did it for him because somewhere along the way his dream morphed into mine. What I came to realize was that his dream wasn’t mine—my dad thought being on tour meant you had made it. His dream was about being famous. Mine is about the music.
As the venues got bigger so did the crowds, the fanfare, and I could see how you could get lost in it, caught up in it—but I was determined not to end up like my father. He was addicted to the fame. I’m addicted to the creative process. I hope that difference between us is enough. The tour ended and we wrote, we played around LA, and as time passed life was good. But I had managed to put off cutting another album long enough. This time I was doing it for the band and for my brother and for me—because I love the music. Cutting the album—that’s the fun part. It’s the promoting I dreaded, at least until the day I saw her through the glass. The girl who inspired our song “Once in a Lifetime,” the girl Xander always referred to as my muse, the girl who stole my heart one night and then crushed it at the very same time.
She was as beautiful as I remembered and with one glance she took my breath away. She walked my way, pulling a suitcase behind her, and my heart skipped a beat. I knew immediately she was the one sent to interview me and suddenly any negativity I had about doing press was gone. I couldn’t help but watch her. I wanted her unlike anyone I had ever wanted before. I had to stifle a laugh when her briefcase fell off the top of her suitcase and she glanced around to see who saw. I wanted to yell, “Only me and don’t worry because everything about you is sexy as fuck.”
I rushed to grab the door for her, but she pushed it forward and fell into me—not that I minded in the least. I’d catch her over and over. There wasn’t a thing about her that I didn’t remember from the first time we met and even the awkwardness of the moment brought me to full attention. When her body pressed against mine, I knew in that instant…this time I wasn’t letting her get away so easily. I’d go on a thousand tours to have her in my life—there was just something about her, a light in her eyes that made everything wrong feel right. And just like my dad, I got a second chance—it was her. But unlike him, I wasn’t going to blow it.
When she extended her hand and said, “Hello, I’m Dahlia London from Sound Music. I’m so sorry I’m late,” I knew she had to be mine.

Relaunch: Picturing Perfect by Melissa Brown (REVIEW and GIVEAWAYS)

Life may not turn out like we planned, but sometimes that’s what makes it perfect…
Hadley Foster has always been a planner. But, since the age of nineteen, things haven’t exactly gone according to plan… not at all. And the changes continue to mount when a trip to Europe with her best friend starts a domino effect in all aspects of her life. Suddenly, the future she had envisioned for herself seems unlikely to happen. It’s time to, make a new plan… or accept the dominoes as they fall.
Jason Kelly has a great life. He’s a successful self-published writer who’s living his dreams. But, something is missing. Hadley Foster. Letting her slip through his fingers is one of his biggest regrets. Over time, he had to accept the idea of being without his first love as he watched her fall in love with someone else.
When circumstances bring Jason and Hadley back into one another’s lives, they’re forced to deal with their past, their present and the possibility of a future together
So you are home and flipping through the cable guide and you happen upon that one movie…the one movie that watch over and over again. You can start it at 5 or 50 minutes in and you will still watch it. You know it by heart. Heck you even own it but you decide at that moment you need to watch it again commercials be damned! When I read a Melissa Brown book I get that feeling! Hopping on for a lawnmower ride into the sunset, testing the neighbors’ noise tolerance with a boom box placed above your head or kissing “the guy” over your one and only birthday cake rates right there with finishing Melissa Brown books! In Picturing Perfect, book three of the Love of My Life series, I am hearing the strings while walking into that school dance in hope of getting the guy and I am ready to pick the book back up at page 1 or even page 101!
Score one for the nerdy boys with Picturing Perfect. We got a taste of Jason in Champagne Toast and I am guessing after that you never looked at a graphic t-shirt the same way again because I know I don’t. Even though Jason had sights on Kate in Champagne Toast his heart was taken a very long time ago by none other than his baby sister’s best bud Hadley. As always time is no one’s friend and each of them have found paths to follow that lacked what they needed most, each other. When life throws them back together they are forced to deal with the issues of the past and what the future may bring. Both Hadley and Jason have created a life without each other based on miss understands and once the truth is laid out will they both be able to see what was in front of them all along?
Ok I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Oh wait…did I say I loved it…no I live for this book! I so fell for Jason in Champagne Toast because he is so the guy I want! Sweet, yummy, kind, and just an all-around good person. There are parts in this book that I awww’ed out loud and said to myself why can’t real guys be like book boyfriends! SO NOT FAIR!!! Thank you Melissa Brown for creating these men! Let’s not forget about the girls! Hadley is just perfect! I so related to her! She was strong and although life may not have been perfect she pulled herself up and did what was best for her. With Hadley and Jason Melissa has created two characters that not only have you cheering their every move but characters you want to call your best friend. This is a beautiful modern love story that proves love doesn’t have to be perfect to be real. Some call Melissa Brown the Queen of Romance but it is so much more than that. After reading Picturing Perfect I found that she not only gives us love but she gives us hope. Hope for change and finding what makes you happy. Creating stories that you want to read over and over again! I am so looking forward to book four in the Love of My Life Series that I maybe stalking her till I get it and after you read Picturing Perfect you may be doing the same!!

I have always been fascinated with books—-ever since I was a little girl sitting in front of my record player, following along with my huge 12×12 storybooks.
I love books—everything about them. I love reading them, being surrounded by them in bookstores and libraries, and most recently, writing some of my own.
“Bouquet Toss” is available as an e-book and paperback on Amazon.com. It is a story that is very close to my heart, one that was very cathartic to write and has opened me up to all sorts of writing possibilities.
“Champagne Toast” is a companion book to Bouquet Toss and was released on January 8th and is also available as an e-book and paperback through amazon.
