There was a time when Jake Becker had it all together. He was controlled, driven, ruthless—in and out of the courtroom.

Then, six irresistible orphans and their heartbreakingly beautiful aunt crashed into his perfectly ordered life. They changed everything. They changed him. Now he’s a husband, an upstanding member of society, a father figure—a family man. And he’s pretty damn good at it.

Sure, he has to referee sibling smackdowns, re-learn algebra, ensure his clients stay of jail, and keep his wife happy—but it finally feels like he’s got it together again....

So, of course something has to screw it all up. It’s huge. Life-changing. Kind of terrifying.

And it will be the most amazing, perfect thing he’ll ever do.

The perfect novella! Perfect! The flow, the characters, the connection, and the words.  I may have highlighted more quotes than I would have in a full novel.  Emma writes these funny, yet touching stories from the male’s point of view like she was born for the job.

Sustained was my favorite of the three book series.  Jake, Chelsea, and the rest of the crew were perfect and being able to continue this adventure with them just made me giddy.  Emma kept each and every character present.  This modern family will keep you entertained while capturing your heart.  Just perfect! The series is a five star and I would double that for Sidebarred!

Sidebarred don't know what I'd do

Jake Becker, you wonderful, perfect, sweet hunk of a man. Why can’t you be real? This novella was the perfect way to put a series to rest. So many wonderful moments that made me smile. I listened to it on Audible and the way Sebastian York read it was absolute perfection. I can’t tell you how warm and fuzzy this story made me feel. What a wonderful conclusion to The Legal Briefs Series. Thank you Emma Chase for making me smile so damn big! 5 Stars isn’t enough for this ending. Wonderful, heartwarming and absolutely perfect.
