As the new owner of the small town’s newspaper, Bryce is hungry for more than birth announcements and obituaries. When a woman is brutally killed and all signs point to the Tin Gypsies, Bryce is determined to expose the club and their leader, Kingston “Dash” Slater, as murderers.
Then Dash breaks all the rules and tips the scales.
She’s fighting to save her heart from the Gypsy King.
Gypsy King is a refreshing take on romance within the MC genre. This story offers the history and backbone of an MC, but the fact the Tin Gypsy’s have gone legit for the past year added depth and self reflection for many of the characters that I find is often missing in MC stories.
Dash has met his match in Bryce. I loved the push and pull of their desires. Desire for one another (hello hot stuff), desire for the truth, and ultimately their desire to embrace a future where they can step away from the past and be the people they were always meant to be. Bryce is extremely relatable. I loved that while she was steadfast in her goals, she was flexible in her methods. I was pulling for her from the very beginning. The fact that she accepted Dash, allowed herself to be vulnerable while also being strong, made pulling for her an easy task. Dash was a surprise. His rugged good looks, loyalty to those closest to him and protective nature made him a sure bet to win my heart. I found myself falling for him even before I knew I should.
Perry did a great job of ramping up the suspense. This cast of characters is sure to offer many more twists and turns. The epilogue definitely left me guessing. I cannot wait to find out what happens in Riven Knight.
