When life brings you the perfect person at the worst possible time…
On a weekend visit to Las Vegas to visit his brother, Marine Braeden Daniels meets a woman who challenges him in ways he can’t deny. The best part is she wants what he wants.
No strings. No feelings. Just fun.
AJ is a Las Vegas performer who is finally living her dream. Growing up poor, she’s determined to succeed at any cost. No one will stand in her way—not even a hot Marine who breezes into her life all confidence and a cocky smile.
A few stolen weekends and neither can deny the feelings quickly growing between them. But the obstacles that keep them apart become more devastating when the Marine Corps calls Braeden away for a six-month deployment.
It’s only six months.
What could possibly happen?
Reading The Final Fight was delicate torture. J.B. is insanely talented. She exposes her characters in a way that gives me chills and leaves me feeling moved by their struggles and their strength.
Within both Braeden and AJ is a contradiction. At times they are laid back, at ease, fluid, and then at other times, they are intense, rigid and static. It took some time for me to warm up to AJ. I’m fiercely protective of my fighting guys and Brae it is an excellent addition to that list. Like every good heroine, AJ had me questioning whether or not she was the one for Brae. She kept me on the surface for a good amount of the story~ had me watching and wondering, maybe even judging ~ and then just when I needed her to, when Brae needed her, she showed me what she was really made of. Her drive and motivation became clear, and I was right there with her. With just a look Brae had me. He has game. He’s a Daniels after all. That’s not to say I didn’t want to shake the stubborn out of him.
Prepare yourself because these two struggle. Brae’s struggle left me adrift as I read. AJ’s persistence pulled me in and gave me hope. Their fight to show up was full of intimacy and connection.
The intensity and love I have for this series is deep and lasting. I cannot wait to see what new series is on the horizon. Salsbury’s talent is endless.
