Jesse Ward is back in the newest novel in the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling This Man series!
Life is good for Jesse ‘The Lord’ Ward. Perfect, actually. He still has the charm, he’s in great shape, and he still reduces his wife, Ava, to a pool of desire with a mere look. He’s in full control, just how he likes it.
But Jesse’s perfect world falls apart when a terrible accident lands Ava in hospital with a life-threatening head injury. Devastated and angry, he feels like his entire existence hangs in the balance. He cannot survive without this woman’s love. So when she finally comes around, his shaking world begins to level out. But his nightmare doesn’t end there. It’s only just begun. Because his wife can’t remember the last sixteen years of her life. That’s all of him. All of their time together. He is a stranger to her.
Now Jesse must do whatever it takes to find her memories . . . and help her fall madly, passionately in love with him all over again.
The Lord is back in With This Man, and once again we are catapulted to Central Jesse Cloud Nine. I could quite possibly live there forever. I like, so many others am head over heels in love with the epic romance that is Jesse and Ava. This book propels us thirteen years into their future, Jesse is turning fifty and the twins, Madie and Jacob are twelve. Life until this point has been blissful… then the unthinkable happens.
Jesse’s world crashes down around him when the love of his life, his entire life ,no longer remembers him or their family. Struggling with everything, he has to help Ava get her memory back, he is determined to get their lives back. He will stop at nothing to make her remember their connection and their passion. Told in dual POV’s, this is a new chapter in their lives. It does a wonderful job retelling the first three books in a way that only JEM could pull off. I ran the gamut of emotions on this one. I laughed and I cried. Some things were a bit predictable, but something caused me to scream “Oh no she didn’t!” And of course, yes she did. This book was everything. The whole cast reappears, and Jodie had me falling in love with all things Jesse all over again.
“I once told you that I wanted to look after you forever.” I hold her eyes, never wavering. “I meant it, baby. Forever isn’t over yet. Never will be, not for us. I love you. You are the best part of me, Ava. The greatest part. That can’t be forgotten.”
