Perilous Trust is the first book in the new FBI Series, Off the Grid by Barbara Freethy. I love a good romantic suspense novel, and this one kept me entertained from page one. Although, I can’t say that I was on the edge of my seat, I can say the fast paced plot kept me intrigued with a cast of complex characters and some great twists and turns.
In this second chance romance, Freethy drops us in the middle of an elite team of FBI agents that were hand picked by one of the most respected mentors of any agency, the heroine’s father., Sophie Parker is a teacher/archaeologist, living a pretty normal life. Damon Wolfe our hero is the perfect agent, obviously coming to save the day when Sophie finds herself a target and has no idea why. The only thing she does know, is her father is dead, and he wasn’t exactly who she thought he was. I love a new author, and completely enjoyed this book. In a indie world full of billionaire twenty-somethings, this was a quick read from an author who’s a seasoned writer. I can’t wait to see what trouble book two gets us into.
